Volunteering at Foodbank

RCWE members supported Foodbank with a visit and breakfast at their premises during the last day of June 2022. After breakfast, a couple of members joined other Rotary clubs packing food hampers for the remainder of the morning. A series of assembly lines packed over 500 boxes which will be sent to emergency areas. Foodbank staff were very appreciative of our efforts.

Melanie honoured by her village in Kenya

Melanie Peyian, the RCWE sponsored student, was recently honoured by her village in Kenya. Melanie is the first person in Kimuka to graduate from university and become a doctor. Melanie expressed her gratitude to RCWE for making this possible and is determined to help her village in the future.

Cancer Council WA receives a $3000 cheque from RCWE

Gabi Nind, the Philanthropy co-ordinator at the Cancer Council, Western Australia presented a summary of the council’s activities at a club meeting in June 2022. Included were facts about the number of guests received at Milroy Lodge, Shenton Park where the Cancer Council named a room after RCWE. President Peter presented a $3000 cheque to Gabi to facilitate some of these activities. In addition, the club has offered to cook a meal for the residents when the environment is reasonably free of covid.

Peter Batskos congratulates incoming President Curt McDonald

RCWE has a new President

At our changeover dinner on 01 July 2022, Curt McDonald succeeded Peter Batskos as President of the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour. Curt brings with him a smaller board composing of Secretary (Laurie Dender), Treasurer (Michael Lee) and Past President (Peter Batskos).
