Melanie honoured by her village in Kenya Melanie Peyian, the RCWE sponsored student, was recently honoured by her village in Kenya. Melanie is the first person in Kimuka to graduate from university and become a doctor. Melanie expressed her gratitude to RCWE for making this possible and is determined to help her village in the future. RCWE members tour recycling facilities at Paraquad Industries at Shenton Park Members of the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour visited the Paraquad recycling facilities at Shenton Park on 23 March 2023. The centre employs nearly 200 personnel, many of them disabled, to sort and process books, op shop items, clothing, some electronic equipment and containers for change bottles and cans. RCWE directly supports the organisation by contributing to the containers for change depot. | |

RCWE contributes to the Harry Perkins Medical Institute On 07 March 2023, members of the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour were welcomed to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research by Ms Judi Lane. Ms Lane provided club members with a comprehensive presentation of the institute's history, operation and achievements. HPIMR has made impressive advances in science, especially in cancer identification and control since its establishment in 1998. RCWE has contributed over $220,000 to cancer research and the Kirkbride Melanoma Advisory Service located at the institute. These collections are from patrons of the Kwinana Motorplex. Apart from being a supporter of Rotary projects, herself, Megan's daughter, Isabelle Hams is the co-president of the Rotary Early Act at Rosalie Primary School.
